Library Card
Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.
To obtain a form for a library card adults may print out the form by clicking on the link at the end of this page or stop by the circulation desk at the library and request one. Children under 18 will need a parent's signature on their request for a card. You will be assigned a number that will serve as your library number for the next 5 years. This number entitles you to check out books, magazines, tapes, music CD's, books on tape or CD, videos, and DVD's.
When you bring an item to the circulation desk to be checked out, the librarian will ask for your number. Books, magazines, CD's, and tapes are circulated for 2 weeks. DVDs and videos are circulated for 1 day.
We have a book drop outside the library door for you to use if returning materials during the hours that the library is not open. Donations for overdue charges are at a rate of $.05 per day for books or $1.00 per day for videos/DVDs. If your total overdue charges exceed $15 you will no longer be able to check out materials. When donations are made that decrease this amount below $15, your privileges are reinstated.
Library materials that have been checked out may be renewed unless someone has put a hold on that item. Simply call the library at 347-2432 to renew your materials or apply for a user name and password at the circulation desk so that you may renew your materials from your home computer by selecting the card catalogue tab above.
If you are interested in a book that is currently checked out, we can put a hold on that item for you. When the item is returned, we will call you and let you know that the item is being held for you.
